I picked it up in south Austin after seeing it stranded at a seedy used car lot. 800 bucks. I had been wanting another since I sold my 84 300zx turbo many years ago. It seemed like it had been well taken care of in its past life. just needed a little TLC. I am a mechanic so I hopped on the project the same day. Here is what has been completed since Ive owned her. Complete suspension rebuild. power steering is deleted. New tires, new brakes, calipers and caliper pins. All tune up items have been changed and I only run oem stuff. Replaced the tps and the chts + chts sub wiring harness. Ive replaced just about every vac hose on the car. Has ice cold a/c. Ive done an E-fan conversion including and electric controller. Magnaflow cat and a correct dual tip muffler. Hella 80/100 watt lo/high-beam light bulbs. Hella Optilux extreme yellow fog lamp bulbs as well. Cold air intake. Blue digital gauges in the a pillar since the stock ones always left me guessing. The motor pulls very strong and the trans shifts very firm. Ive lightly smoked the tail lamp covers. full audio system including a 7" touch screen with gps navigation and a custom dash bezel that I an in the process of building.
Ive only owned it since November. Now here is the real stickler, last week I got a 1989 300zx N/a coupe of which only 3400 were ever made. I paid 500 bucks for it and pulled it back to Austin from Victoria. So now my baby is going to give all her parts up to build the 89. Plus I would like to have a spare engine and trans for the 89. It needs the hood and wiring harness due to someone installing the improper battery in the car and grounding the positive terminal to the fire wall.![]()
